It's March Madness!

Where is the year going?

Here are my two monthly pieces, stitched but not finished.

A Bit of March by Lizzie*Kate
Stitched on 16 count Provence aida by Sew it All
with recommended DMC threads
Started 1 February 2017, finished 17 February 2017

March Fairy by Lili of the Valley
Stitched on 16 count Iced Coffee aida by Sew it All
with recommended DMC threads
Started 2 February 2017, finished 27 February 2017

Stitching on other things was a bit limited this month as I spent most of my time finishing Frosty Forest.

Yesterday was opening day for the Needlecraft Haven Autumn meet-up exchange.  Anyone who was at the meet-up was free to enter.  We each wrote down our favourite flower, colour and season on a card, and then the cards were selected randomly.  Each stitcher had to make a needlecase for their partner with the theme of their initial.  This is what I received from my partner, Lindsay...

I can't get it to show up in the photographs but the fabric has a beautiful sparkle to it.  I chose daisies and the colour blue, and my favourite season is spring.

There was also some chocolate included but that has already been started.  Thank you Lindsay, I love everything you chose for me and the needlecase will be well loved.

It's March Madness on the Theme-Tas-Stitch SAL this month but I have no idea what I am going to do!  I want to stitch the two monthly charts from the series I have so far kept up with this year, but I really don't want to end the month with lots of new WIPs!  If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful

Hope you all enjoy a bit of Spring sunshine this week!

Justine

  6. Cute little seasonal finishes. Through a FB group I'm in, I am seeing so many Spring-themed pieces, and I realized that I don't do seasonal stuff, except for a few Christmas cards (though I don't even celebrate Christmas!). I need to up my game! Thanks for being part of my inspiration.

  13. Well I would say that you are ahead for March Madness with two March pieces already finished. Both are lovely. Did you and Mii buy the Fairy patterns together? 😆
I would suggest to work on few WIPs and may be start 1-2 smalls for March Madness.
That's what I'm gonna do-work on my two WIPs and start 2 smalls.

  25. That is a beautiful needlebook What a great exchange. I am just going day by day in March for the same reason, I am trying to reduce my number of WIPs in 2017. So I have made a little promise to myself- if I start it in March I will finish it by December. Lets see how that goes

  33. You finished your monthly pieces very fast, Justine. And this little March fairy is just so sweet. I love what Lindsay made for you, great motif and great finishing.
I can easily understand why this March Madness causes some thinking for you. But I couldn't start a new project each day either. I didn't even do it when I joined the Crazy January Challenges several years ago. And this being said by a serial starter, lol. I think I would pull out 15 of my oldest WIPs and stich on each of them for two days. But not sure if I could stick with it for a whole month, lol. Let us know how you solved the problem.

Yes, you have a start for March with these finishes ..... I would work on some WIPs if I were you!
